Still relatively new to the internet so I guess I am still quite wary. Have a small circle of close knit friends and being in a band makes me suspicious of strangers because of all the nutters out there who have no interest in getting to know you and simply want to sleep with a musician. So I tread very cautiously and probably take more time than necessary opening up.

But there's a number of people on here who I've yet to meet in real life, but I have no hesitation to call them friends and hope one day, distance permitting, to take that friendship beyond the net and into the real world.

Well to answer my own question, I've made some lifelong friends online & they most definitely count.. They're a little piece of who I am now.. Real friendships last & time has been a proven test to that Ok this is a pointed question.. 368773 Ok this is a pointed question.. 128583 Ok this is a pointed question.. 456982

For me no. I am content with the friends I do have. I am also wary of people on the internet as you can take on any persona you like.

I'm definately wary, but believe you have just as much chance as forming a solid friendship online, as you have of forming one using a more out dated mode. I think if it can stand the test of taking it offline then some are even perhaps better because you have such an understanding of the person form having chatted to them on all subjects imagineable.
